This is Jon Kung, an up-and-coming chef based in Detroit. One of the things that I enjoy the most on Jon’s food me, which drew me to him, was the way that he connected it with his cultural heritage. He presents food almost as a memory. A memory that you trigger by eating the things that connect you to it. So, this is my portrait of him, remembering Hong Kong while smelling dumplings.
